What Is a Menopause Massage?

Updated: Jul 5
One of the newest treatments I've introduced at Cedar Rose Wellness is Menopause Massage. If you're wondering what it is or how it's different from a regular massage, I hope this guide answers some of your questions.
Menopause Massage is a gentle, full body treatment created with women during perimenopause and menopause in mind.
It combines relaxing massage, calming and soothing aromatherapy oils, traditional acupressure points selected with menopause in mind, and soothing face and scalp massage to help you slow down, switch off and simply feel looked after.
It isn't about trying to "fix" menopause. Every woman's experience is different. Instead, it's about creating a space where your body can relax, your mind can become a little quieter and, for an hour, nothing is expected of you.

What happens during a Menopause Massage?
Before your appointment, you'll complete a consultation form at home, giving you plenty of time to tell me about your health, how you've been feeling and anything you'd like me to know. When you arrive, we'll chat through it together before your treatment begins, so there's no rush and you have the opportunity to ask any questions.
Your Menopause Massage is a 70-minute full body treatment using calming aromatherapy oils, carefully selected acupressure points traditionally used to support women during perimenopause and menopause, and soothing massage to the face and scalp.
Everything is carried out at a slow, unhurried pace. My aim is that, by the end of your treatment, you've had an hour where you could simply switch off, breathe and feel genuinely looked after.
Aromatherapy oils chosen with menopause in mind
Every part of this treatment has been thoughtfully chosen, including the Harmony Body Oil by Botanicals Skincare.
This beautiful blend contains Wild Rose, Rose Geranium, Lavender and Palmarosa essential oils, chosen for their calming, soothing and skin-nourishing properties. Together, they create a gentle aroma that encourages relaxation while helping to care for skin that can often become drier during perimenopause and menopause.
As the oils are slowly massaged into the skin, they become part of the whole experience. For me, aromatherapy isn't just about the fragrance; it's about creating a sense of calm, helping you slow your breathing, soften your shoulders and settle into the treatment from the very beginning.
How is it different from a regular massage?
Every massage I offer is designed to help you relax, but this treatment has been thoughtfully created with women during perimenopause and menopause in mind.
Alongside a relaxing 70-minute full body massage, I incorporate traditional acupressure points selected with menopause in mind, a calming aromatherapy oil blend and soothing massage to the face and scalp.
Together, these elements create a treatment that feels deeply nurturing, helping both body and mind to slow down.
The pace of the treatment is also a little different. Nothing is rushed. From the moment you arrive, my aim is for you to feel able to leave the outside world behind, settle into the space and simply enjoy an hour where nothing is expected of you.
For me, that's what this treatment is really about. Creating a calm, nurturing space where you can switch off for a while, feel genuinely cared for and leave feeling a little lighter than when you arrived.

Is this treatment right for you?
This treatment has been created for women during perimenopause and menopause who are looking for a little time to rest, recharge and feel looked after.
You may be finding it difficult to switch off, carrying tension through your shoulders and neck, struggling to relax or simply feeling like you've been putting everyone else first for far too long.
Every woman's experience of menopause is different, which is why we always begin by chatting about how you've been feeling and what you'd like from your treatment.
You don't need to be experiencing every menopause symptom to benefit from this treatment. Sometimes you simply need an hour where someone is looking after you for a change.
Whether you're looking for deep relaxation, some time to yourself or simply an hour where nothing is expected of you, my aim is for you to leave feeling calmer, lighter and more like yourself again.
A note from Emma
Like many women, I've been navigating perimenopause myself, so I know it isn't always easy.
That's one of the reasons I wanted to train in Menopause Massage. Not because I believe it has all the answers, but because I wanted to offer something thoughtful and nurturing for women going through this stage of life.
If I can give someone an hour to slow down, switch off and leave feeling even a little lighter than when they arrived, then that's exactly why I created this treatment.
